This page explains what data is processed when you visit bigibz.com, why, and what your rights are. The short version: this site has no accounts, no contact forms, no email list, and no ads. The only data it works with is privacy-conscious analytics, standard hosting logs, and the cookies Amazon sets if you choose to click an affiliate link.
This site is operated by the individual creator behind bigibz1, based in the United States (“I”, “me”). For anything privacy-related, contact ibrahim@bigibz.com. For visitors in the EEA and UK, I am the data controller for the processing described here.
This site uses PostHog to understand which pages and guides get read. What PostHog stores depends on where you are and what you choose:
Analytics data includes pages visited, referrer, device and browser type, country, and a small number of interaction events (for example, opening the “AI prompt” panel on a guide). PostHog is configured to discard visitor IP addresses at ingestion, so IP addresses are not stored with analytics data. PostHog Inc. processes this data on servers in the United States; see PostHog’s privacy policy.
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify receives your IP address to deliver pages and keeps short-lived access logs for security and abuse prevention; see Netlify’s privacy policy.
Some outbound links are affiliate links (see the affiliate disclosure). If you click one, the destination — for example Amazon — sets its own cookies on its own domain to attribute the visit. That happens under the destination site’s privacy policy, not this one, and only if you click.
The analytics cookie lasts about one year, or until you withdraw consent. Aggregated analytics are kept for as long as they are useful for understanding readership. Netlify retains access logs for a short period (typically under 30 days).
The site operator and both service providers (PostHog, Netlify) are US-based, so data described above is processed in the United States. The data involved is minimised: IP addresses are discarded from analytics at ingestion, and no names, emails, or account data exist on this site at all.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, email ibrahim@bigibz.com. Note that analytics data is pseudonymous — I cannot link it to you without information only you hold (such as your device’s identifier).
